GRANTS — The Cibola County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary at the home of Magistrate Judge Jackie Fisher.

Burglars apparently broke into his home sometime between 2 p.m. Saturday and 9:45 p.m. Sunday. "I was gone from my house," Fisher said.

Fisher lives on the very north end of Iron Street just north of the Grants water tanks.

Cibola County Sheriff's Department Detective Sgt. Harry Hall said the sheriff's department was contacted Monday about the break-in.

"When I got home I thought I had locked the door," Fisher said. "It was dark out and I didn't notice anything."

The next morning Fisher said he went to work.

"The lock looked like it had been pried, but I thought they didn't get in; so I came to work," Fisher said.

Returning home for lunch Monday, Fisher noticed his garage was open and it was then he knew he was the victim of a burglary.

Hall said the burglar, or burglars apparently took only two things. "They took a 50-gallon, tan-colored water heater and a small, black portable air compressor," Hall said.

Hall said if anyone has information about the break-in to contact the sheriff's department at 876-2040, or Cibola County Crime Stoppers at 287-8400.
