Genevieve Sice
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Genevieve Sice, 95, will be at 10 a.m.,
Thursday, May 5 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Church. The Very Rev. Lawrence
J. O'Keefe will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at 7 p.m., today, May 4, Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel.
Sice died April 30 in Albuquerque. She was born May 11, 1909 in Naschitti
into the Salt People Caln for the Red House People Clan.
Sice was a housekeeper/cook at St. Mary's Hospital and the Catholic
Archdioces of Gallup for Bishops Espaige, Hastrich and Pelotte. She
belonged to the Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, Alter Society,
McKinley Co. General Hospital Auxilliary and the Our Lady of Guadalupe
Society. She received the "Mother of the Year" Award in 1984
and received a peace medal when she went to visit Pope John Paul II.
She enjoyed traveling and sewing.
Survivors include her daughters, Caroline M. Nez of Gallup, Vita Seciwa
of Seattle, Evangeline Sice-Marin of Oakland, Calif., Thelma Sice-Romero
of Albuquerque; brothers, Larry Foster of St. Michaels, Ariz., Samuel
Sullivan of Window Rock; sisters, Roselyn F. Begay of Gallup, Louise
F. Joe of Sanders, Glenna Smith of Vain, Okla., and Flossie Silversmith
of Window Rock, 32 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Sice, Jr., parents, Fred
Foster and Mary Foster; sons, Francis G. Sice, Norman Anthony Sice,
Wilbert H. Sice; sisters, Gladys Bitsoie, Florence Cronemeyer, Emily
Johnson; brothers, Milton Foster and Sam Johnson and one son, Raymond
E. Sice.
Pallbearers will be Michael J. Marin, John Nez, John Romero, Vincent
Romero, Silbert Seciwa II, Chris Sice, Gabriel Sice and Tyrone Sice.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Edison Golden Sr.
BURNT WATER, Ariz. Services for Edison James Golden Sr., 56,
will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 5, at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel.
Pastor Scott Merritt will officiate. Burial will follow at the private
family cemetery.
Golden died May 1 in Fort Defiance. He was born May 26, 1948 in Burnt
Water into the Zuni People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People
Clan.
Golden graduated from Wingate High School. He served in the U.S. Army
Eighth Division for three years. After his discharge he became an apprentice
journeyman pipe fitter. and went to trade school to become licensed.
His hobbies included horseback riding, being outdoors, working on cars
and singing and joking.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine M. Golden of Sanders; sons, Adrian
James Golden, Denney James Golden and Edison James Golden, all of Burnt
Water; daughters, Andrea Lorenda Golden, Danelle Maria Golden, both
of Burnt Water, and Rhoda Begay of Little Silversmith, Ariz.; mother,
Mary Golden of Burnt Water; sisters, Ruth Cling of Burnt Water, Lorraine
Footracer of Grants, Martina Walker of Querino Canyon; brothers, Harrison
Golden of Querino Canyon, James Golden Jr., Roger Golden and Wilson
Golden, all of Burnt Water and his grandmother, Angela Ashley of Ganado,
and five grandchildren.
Golden was preceded in death by his father, James Golden; brother Dennis
James Golden.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Footracer, Lyol Footracer, Greg Golden, James
Golden Jr., Roger Golden, Silence Golden.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Kenny Burbank
PHOENIX Services for Kenny Burbank, 25, will be at 10 a.m.,
Thursday, May 5 at the Mennonite Church in Glue Gap, Ariz. Billy Kee
John will officiate. Burial will follow on family land in Blue Gap.
Burbank died April 30 in Phoenix. He was born Oct. 19, 1979 in Gallup
into the Mexican Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Burbank was a 1998 graduate of Chinle High School and was employed by
Corbins Electric of Phoenix as an electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon John; sons, Kamren Burbank; parents,
Kee Tso Burbank and Sandra James; sisters, Sandy Burbank, Sheree Burbank
and Ashleigh Henry and his grandfather, Billy James.
Burbank was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Ruth James and
one brother, Allen Henry.
Pallbearers will be Kee Tso Burbank, Jerome Benally, Brian Yazzie, Aaron
John, Bill James and Robinson Preston.
