Julia Nelson
HAYSTACK Funeral services for Julia L. Nelson, 60, will be at
10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 at the Prewitt Assembly of God Church.
Rev. Ruth Droll will officiate. Burial will be in the Grants Memorial
Park.
Nelson died March 27 in Gallup. She was born July 17, 1944 into the
Sagebrush People Clan for the Mescalero People Clan.
Nelson was a homemaker and silversmith.
Survivors include her sons, Virgil Nelson of Gallup, Darryl Nelson,
Nathanael Nelson, Herschell Nelson all of Haystack; sisters, Mae Lapahaie
of Haystack, Lillian Francisco of To'Hajiilee; brothers, Benjamin Lewis
of Prewitt, Albert Lewis of Iyanbito and five grandchildren.
Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Nelson; parents,
Cecil Lewis, Sr. and Elizabeth Lewis; brother, Limbert Lewis.
Pallbearers will Hank Vandever, Hamp Vandever, Jr., Haris Desiderio,
Victor Castillo, Sam Castillo, Jr. and Albert Lewis.
Compassion Mortuary of Grants, is in charge of arrangements.
Kay Springer
ALBUQUERQUE Cremation and private services were held for Kay
Springer, 68.
Springer was born March 3, 1937 in Ganado. She died March 20 in Albuquerque.
She was a graduate of the University of Colorado. She taught elementary
school for many years and retired to the Durango area.
Springer is survived by her brother, Jay Springer of Gallup and was
preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Springer.
Raymond B. Tsosie
STEAMBOAT Funeral services for Raymond B. Tsosie, 62, will be
at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 at Faith Mission, Greasewood. Pastor
Johnny Glover will officiate. Burial will be in the Greasewood Community
Cemetery.
Tsosie died March 27 in Flagstaff. He was born Jan. 27, 1942 in Ganado
into the Mexican People Clan for the Red House People Clan.
Tsosie attended Albuquerque Indian School. He was a rancher. He served
in Vietnam and recieved two bronze service stars and a purple heart.
Survivors include his wife, Annie R. Tsosie; daughter, Melissa Teller
of Greasewood; sisters, Katie Lyman of Sunrise, Pearl Perry, Helen Tsosie,
Ella Cayanito all of Albuquerque, Emma Johnson of Holbrook, Ruth Jensen
of Dilcon and two grandchildren.
Tsosie was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Tsosie; father, John
Tsosie and brother, Tom Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Perry, Alex Teller, Justin Paul, Jr., Jayme
Mestas and Curtis Bitsie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Katie Lyman's residence
in Sunrise.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sheldon Hoskie
FORT DEFIANCE Services are pending for Sheldon Hoskie, 30.
Hoskie died March 28 in Fort Defiance. He was born Dec. 16, 1974 in
Gallup into the Mexican People Clan for the Salt Water People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
