Ollie Turpen
ALBUQUERQUE Memorial services for Ollie "Frank" Turpen,
73, will be at on Saturday, June 25 at the Lighthouse Church. Pastor
Overton will officiate.
Turpen was born Nov. 14, 1931 in Haltem, Texas.
He enjoyed spending time with family.
Survivors include his sons, Duwayne Turpen, Anthony Turpen, Chris Turpen,
Stacy Turpen; daughters, Patsy Trussel, Tanya Gentile, Michelle Benton;
sister, Lavonne; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Turpen was preceded in death by his father, Silas; mother, Lillie Jane;
brother, Gilford; wife, Eva and son, Ronnie.
Annie Allen
BLUEWATER ACRES Funeral services for Annie Ruth Allen, 94, will
be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the First Baptist Church, Thoreau.
Pastor Robert Sowers will officiate. Burial will follow at the Santa
Fe National Cemetery.
A visitation will be held today, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Compassion
Mortuary.
Allen died June 19 in Bluewater Acres. She was born March 8, 1911 in
Bosque County, Texas.
Allen was a member of the N.M. Association for Family and Community
Education for over 50 years. She was active in the Thoreau Senior Center,
Foxy Country Ladies and Christ Fellowship Church.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy R. Allen of Bluewater Acres, Jerry
M. Allen of Florence, Ariz., Joyce L. Parker of Deming; sister, Reva
Mae Davis of Darby, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren
and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Allen; parents,
John C. Bullock and Maude Elizabeth Ray Bullock; daughter, Janet Allen;
sisters, Ruby Bennett, Rena Biffel, Roxy Heaton; brothers, Ray Bullock,
Roy Bullock, Buster Bullock, Rex Bullock, Roe L. Bullock and Bill Clements.
Pallbearers will be Sky Allen Cassidy. Jason David Cassidy, Shawn Joseph
Marquez, Dustin Lee Elkins, Cody Lynn Elkins, Scotty Christian Baker
and Jack Drake.
Compassion Mortuary of Grants, is in charge of arrangements.
Dixie Shorty
LITTLEWATER Funeral services for Dixie Shorty, 57, will be at
10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at Hosanna Pentacostal Church. Harry Cayadenito
will officiate. Burial will be on family land in Littlewater.
Shorty was born Sept. 21, 1947 in Littlewater into the Red Running into
Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Shorty was a homemaker. She made kachinas, silverwork and sewing. She
enjoyed cooking, T.V. and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Andrew Enrico Sr., of Phoenix, Ivan Shorty
of Littlwater, Lionel Shorty of Thoreau; daughter, Marian Shorty of
Crownpoint; brother, Kenneth Shorty Sr. of Thoreau; sister, Nancy S.
Willie of Littlewater and six grandchildren.
Shorty was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary C. Shorty;
brothers, Peter Shorty, Lyman Shorty and daughter, Latonya Sandoval.
Pallbearers will be Wilbert Shorty, Melford Shorty, Glenn Jim Nez, Ronald
Willie, Jameson Willie and Jimmie Garcia Sr.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
