Man found dead in car
Staff Report
GALLUP A Fort Defiance man was found dead in his car on Saturday.
The McKinley County Sheriff's Department reported that Calvert Tso, 38,
was found behind the wheel of a vehicle that rolled off the side of a
dirt track at a slow speed into a small tree near Mt. Mahogany Road.
His death was unattended.
Gallup Fire Department was dispatched to the scene earlier and checked
on Tso through a window, which was rolled down about four inches.
McKinley County Under Sheriff John Yearly said that while a cause of death
has not been determined, they suspect a narcotics overdose.
"There was no indication of a struggle or external injuries,"
Yearly said. "The guy was not known to be a drinker."
Yearly also said that initially, injection marks have not been found on
Tso, which could indicate drug use.
"In the community, there have been numerous heroin overdoses,"
Yearly said.
Tso was declared dead at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday. He was a cashier at Giant
Gas Station.
