Man's throat sliced

WINDOW ROCK Navajo Nation Police from Shiprock Police District
are investigating a stabbing incident reported early Monday. Shiprock
Dispatch received a report around 6:35 a.m. regarding a male subject whose
throat had been cut.
When officers arrived at a residence located east of Burger King, Kinsell
Lee, 55, stated that his son had a cut to his throat. Police said the
victim, identified as Gary Lee, 34, had a 1 inch puncture wound to the
left side of his throat, but was responsive. Police said he also smelled
of alcohol.
The victim was transported to Northern Navajo Medical Center by ambulance,
where he required surgery for the wound.
The case has been referred to Shiprock Criminal Investigator Louis St.
Germaine.
Man stabbed
OAK SPRINGS Window Rock Police were called to an Oak Springs residence
June 11 in response to a caller reporting a stabbing incident.
Navajo Nation Police Officer Karl Atcitty and Criminal Investigator Arnold
Silversmith responded to the home where they found a 16-year-old male
suffering from stab wounds.
Navajo Nation Emergency Medical Service staff transported the juvenile
to the hospital in Fort Defiance where he was treated for eight stab wounds
to the front and back of the left shoulder and a collapsed lung. The juvenile
was admitted to the hospital for further observation.
FBI Special Agent Keith Hicks was notified of the incident. The case is
under investigation.
One dead in accident
SAWMILL A Fort
Defiance man was found dead June 6 by Navajo Nation Police Officer Casey
Tommie of Window Rock Police District, who responded to an accident at
Milepost 10 on Navajo Route 7.
According to the report, Officer Tommie arrived at the scene and noticed
a heavily damaged vehicle trapped in a guard rail. The victim, identified
at the scene as Aaron Jon Cayatineto, 25, died upon impact.
The driver and a front-seat passenger were transported to the hospital
in Fort Defiance. Alcohol was involved in the accident, according to police.
The case is under investigation by Window Rock Criminal Investigator Arnold
Silversmith.
