Arsenia Montoya
GALLUP Funeral Mass and rosary for Arsenia "Arcy"
Montoya, 71, will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at St. Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church. Father Gonzalo Guzman, O.F.M. will officiate.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Montoya died June 9. She was born Jan. 25, 1934 in Gallup.
Montoya attended and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1953. She
was employed with Gallup McKinley County Schools as a bus driver for
over 31 years and was currently a lunch cashier with GMCS. Montoya enjoyed
playing bingo.
Survivors include her daughters, Monica Chavez, Arlene Cortez, Dorothy
Forkner all of Gallup, Linda "Cookie" Montoya of Mesa, Ariz.;
sons, Nick "Moose" Montoya, Jr., Robert Montoya both of Mesa;
brothers, Adolfo Chavez of Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Chavez of Gallup;
sister, Priscilla Ramirez of Gallup; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Montoya was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Montoya, Sr.; father,
Cayetano Chavez, Sr.; mother, Adela Chavez; brothers, Cayetano Chavez,
Jr. and Guzman Buddy Chavez.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Cortez, Billy Forkner, Orlando Gonzales,
Jr., Bryan Montoya, Anthony Ramirez and Clem Ramirez, Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Knights of Columbus
Hall following burial services.

Rose Donaldson
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Rose Rael Donaldson, 64, will be at
10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church, Santa
Rosa. Burial will follow in Cuervo Community Cemetery, Cuervo.
A rosary was recited on Sunday, June 12 at St. John Vianney Catholic
Church and at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church this evening, June 13
at 7 p.m.
Donaldson died June 10 in Gallup. She was born Sept. 1, 1940 in Cuervo,
N.M.
Survivors include her children, Theresa Sisneros of Albuquerque, Joseph
Rael-Donaldson, Kristy Baca both of Gallup; sisters, Paublita "Pat"
Durante of Ramah, Agelina Flores of Puerto de Luna, Esmeralda Bradford
of Tucumcari, Emiliana Rael of Albuquerque; brothers, Nicholas Aragon,
Cecil Rael both of Los Lunas, Carlos Perea of Tucumcari; and nine grandchildren.
Donaldson was preceded in death by her parents, Maxamiliano Rael and
Michelita Aragon Rael; brother, Cecilio Rael Sr. and sister, Antonia
Urban.
Pallbearers will be William Sisneros, Joshua Sisneros, Auggie Durante,
Jr., Kenneth Durante, Andrew Ochoa-Donaldson and Gerald Perea.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Jimmie Holona
TOHATCHI Funeral Mass for Jimmie Holona, 89, will be at 10 a.m.
on Tuesday, June 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father John Mittlestadt
will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tohatchi community cemeter.
Holona was born Feb. 25, 1916 in Tohatchi for the Near to the Water
People Clan into the Salt People Clan.
Holona attended Albuquerque Indian School. He received vocational training
in auto mechanics. He was a US Army Veteran. He retired as a journeyman
carpenter, carpentry instructor and manager of Tohatchi Senior Center.
Survivors include his sons, James Holona, Virgil Holona; daughters,
Gladys Silversmith, Pauline Holona, Gerladine Holona; brothers, Alfred
Holona, Wilson Holona, Wallace Holona, Lamar Hardy, Raymond Etsitty;
sisters, Molly Damon, Marie Holyan, Winifred Muskett, Mary Haven, Evelyn
Dodge, Laura Morris; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Holona was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Holona; parents, Barney
and Annie Holona and sister, Daisy James.
Pallbearers will be James Holona, Virgil Holona, Bryon Yazzie, Jonathan
Holona, Leonard Belone and Carlton Pine.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Tohatchi Chapter
House.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Charlotte Brown
STEAMBOAT Graveside services for Charlotte Jane Brown, 38, were
at 10 a.m. this morning, June 13 on family land in Steamboat.
Brown died May 18 in Jeddito. She was born April 25, 1964 in Ganado.
Brown graduated in 1983 from Fort Wingate High School. She was involved
with many school activities. She also attended Arizona State University,
studying Native American Culture.
Survivors inlcude her daughter, Raynelle Brown of Globe; brothers, Erwin
Brown of White Cone, Ezra Brown of White River, Patrick Brown of Santa
Fe, Wayne Brown of Steamboat; sisters, Shirley Cook of Cottonwood, Alfreida
Barreiro of Lakeside, Ariz., Alberta Cook of Prescott Valley, Cori Brown
of Steamboat.
Brown was preceded in death by her brother, Raphael Brown; father, Ralph
Brown; grandparents, Ezra Nelson, Dzonnie Nelson, Felix Brown and Yilth
Nazbah Brown.
Pallbearers were family members.
Etta Y. Lee
CHURCHROCK Funeral services for Etta Y. Lee, 74, will be at
1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Alvin Cayatineto
will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Lee died June 9 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 10, 1931 in Rehoboth.
Lee was a homemaker and rug weaver. She enjoyed being with children
and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Alfred Lee, Norman Lee both of Churchrock,
James Lee Sr. of Farmington; daughter, Lita Lee of Cortez; brothers,
James Kee Yazzie, Hurbert White of Ganado; sisters, Irene Smith of Gallup,
Mary Y. Livingston of Churchrock, Janice Arviso of Springstead; 10 grandchildren
and 3 great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by her son Danny Lee Jr.; parents, Frank and
Lillie Yazzie; brother, George Yazzie and sister, Florence Naylor.
Pallbearers will be Jameson Lee, Calvin Lee, Benson Begay, Neill Begay,
Melinda Smith and Avelar Nachin.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Clint Spiros
GALLUP Services are pending and will be announced at a later
date for Clint Spiros, 20 of Gallup.
Spiros was born July 23, 1984 in Gallup. He died April 21 in Gallup.
