Miguel Saavedra
GRANTS Funeral services for Miguel "Mike" Saavedra,
77, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at San Rafael Catholic Parish.
Father Matthew Keller will officiate. Burial will follow with military
honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3221 at the San
Rafael Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, June 8 from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary being recited
at 7 p.m. at San Rafael Catholic Parish.
Saavedra died June 5 in San Rafael. He was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Cubero.
He was a retired uranium miner and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Erminia Saavedra of San Rafael; sons, Billy
Saavedra Sr., Peter Saavedra both of San Rafael; daughters, Henrietta
Saavedra-Leos of Santa Fe, Denise Saavedra of San Rafael, Valerie Torrez
of Calif.; sister, Carmen Stockman of Skiatook, Okla.; brother, Pastor
Clemente Saavedra of Grants; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Saavedra was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Victoria
Saavedra; brothers, Pablo Saavedra and Serafico Saavedra.
Pallbearers will be Antonio Leos, Billy Saavedra Jr., Francisco Mata,
George Melones, Allen DuBois and David Saavedra.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Eleanor E. Francis
DEL MUERTO Funeral services for Eleanor E. Francis, 72, will
be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at the North Ruin Bible Church. Jimmie
Draper Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the community cemetery.
Francis died June 6 in Farmington. She was born in Valleystore, Ariz.,
in 1932 into the Bead People Clan for the Near the Water Edge People
Clan.
Francis was self-employed and enjoyed sewing and going to church.
Survivors include her husband, Archie J. Francis; son, JayCe Francis;
brothers, Wilfred Etsitty, Jimmie Etsitty; sisters, Elsie Bosie, Elizabeth
Etsitty, Charlette Begay and four grandchildren.
Francis was preceded in death by her parents, Badi Etsitty and Baa Claw;
brother, John M. Etsitty.
Pallbearers will be JayCe Francis, Kenneth Etsitty, Dalton VanWinkle,
Delson VanWinkle, Emerson Bahe and Clarence D. Bahe.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the family residence
in Del Muerto.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Timothy Williams
ALBUQUERQUE Funeral services for Timothy Kee Williams, 32, will
be 1 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Second Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque.
Rev. Robert Woodruff will officiate. Cremation will follow services.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, from 3-7 p.m. at French
Mortuary, Albuquerque.
Williams died June 5. He was born Feb. 12, 1973, in Gallup.
Williams graduated from Menaul High School as Salutatorian. He received
a bachelor's degree in mathematics from New Mexico Tech. He was accepted
to the graduate program at UNM. Williams was employed as a senior software
principal engineer for Lockheed-Martin and enjoyed his work, music (guitar
and keyboard) and outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Williams; son, Marcus Williams; daughter,
Adrianna Williams; mother, Dorothy; brother, Daniel; and former wife,
Alicia.
Vernard Martinez Sr.
PINEHILL Services for Vernard Martinez, Sr., 40, will be 10
a.m., Thursday, June 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints, Ramah. Bishop Doug Bloomfield will officiate. Burial will follow
in a family cemetery.
Martinez Sr. died June 3 in Albuquerque. He was born May 21, 1965, in
Chicago into the Salt People Clan for the Laguna People.
Martinez Sr. worked as an EMT in Pinehill for 16 years. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting, archery, horseback riding, site seeing, playing chess, basketball,
baseball and doing mechanic work.
Survivors include his father, David A. Martinez, Sr. of Ramah; mother,
Estella N. Martine of Pinehill; daughters, Colleen Martinez, Wilhelmina
Martinez both of Pinehill; sons, Jerome Martinez, Vernard Martinez,
Jr. both of Pinehill; brother, David Martin Jr. of Pinehill; sisters,
Jaqueline Martinez, Marlene Martinez both of Pinehill and Caroline Nez
of Flagstaff.
Martinez Sr. was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Martinez;
maternal grandmother, Ester Bahe; maternal grandfather, Shea Bahe; paternal
grandparents, Luta Filemino and Antonio Martinez.
Pallbearers will be Bob Beaver, Ervin Eriacho, Kenny Eriacho, Henry
Miller, Reuben Pino and Wil Shepherd.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Bubby Gloshay
WHITERIVER Funeral services for Bubby Gloshay, 73, will be Saturday,
June 11, in Whiteriver, Ariz. Burial will be on a family plot.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Gloshay of Whiteriver; daughter,
Brenda Gloshay of Whiteriver; son, Eddie Gloshay of Old Coalmine and
five grandchildren.
Victoria E. Diaz
CROWNPOINT Funeral services for Victoria E. Diaz, 27, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Diaz died June 6 in Gallup. He was born March 26, 1978 into the Mud
People Clan for the Bitterwater People Clan.
