Nick Saucedo
HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. Funeral Mass for Nick Saucedo was held
on July 6 at St. John Vianney Catholic Community, Hacienda Heights.
Rev. Christopher Terry officiated. Burial followed in the Queen of Heaven
cemetary.
Saucedo died July 1 in West Covina, Calif.
Saucedo graduated from Gallup High School in 1953. He served in the
US Army and received various medals and honors. He was employed with
the Willow Adult Handicap School.
Survivors inlcude his wife, Mary Saucedo of Hacienda Hights; sons, Nick
Saucedo Jr., Domenic Saucedo; brothers, Mike Saucedo of Pueblo, Colo.,
Louis Saucedo Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Cesario A. Saucedo of Gallup;
sister, Maria Tafoya of Gallup; and three grandchildren.
Saucedo was preceded in death by his father, Louis Saucedo; mother,
Estaniseada Saucedo; sister, Virginia Cunningham; brothers, Magdaleno
Saucedo, Ramon Saucedo and Tomas Saucedo.
Pallbearers were Victor Baca, Mike Gallegos, Louis Saucedo Jr., Mike
Saucedo Jr., and Louis Saucedo.
Hilda Sanchez
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Hilda Sanchez, 88, will be at 1 p.m.
on Wednesday, July 27 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Father
Mike Vigil will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited this evening, July 26 at 7 p.m. at St. Francis
of Assisi Catholic Church.
Sanchez died July 22 in Gallup. She was born April 13, 1917 in McGaffey.
Sanchez was a medical assistant at St. Mary's Hospital for over 34 years
and she retired in 1984. In her early years, she enjoyed playing baseball.
Sanchez also enjoyed quilting, embroidering, gardening, cooking and
spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Lenore J. Diaz of Gamerco, Lucille
Garcia, Barbara Mecale both of Gallup; sons, Antonio R. Ponce, Arthur
"Artie" Ponce both of Gallup; brother, Levi Cervantes of Bluewater;
26 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Cresenciano Sanchez; father,
Juan Cervantes; mother, Trinidad Cervantes; son, Manuel Ponce; brother,
Joe Cervantes; sisters, Margaret Grijalva and Maria Paredes.
Pallbearers will be Andrew M. Diaz, Jr., Edward J. Diaz, Gilbert C.
Diaz, Aaron A. Manno, Anthony Martinez, Daniel P. Mecale, Phillip D.
Mecale, and Dino P. Ponce.

Abram Maria
RAMAH Funeral services for Abram Maria, 54, will be at 10 a.m.
on Wednesday, July 27 at the Nazarene Church in Ramah. Rev. Herman Nells
will officiate. Burial will follow in a private cemetery.
Maria died July 20 in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 9, 1951 in Ramah
into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Maria was a community leader, serving on many committees. He was a rancher
and breeder. He was involved in many youth sports and in Radio Sports
Broadcasting. Maria attended Fort Lewis College and Western N.M. University
where he obtained his master's degree in counseling. He served in the
US Army Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Maria was honorably
discharged following 4 years of service. Maria enjoyed running the Sliding
Rock Cattle Company, breeding quarter horses, collecting model trucks,
basketball, football, watching TV sports and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Maria of Ramah; sons, Adam Jacoby
Maria, Eric Phillip Maria both of Ramah, daughters, Heather Maria of
Albuquerque, Kristin Claire Maria of Santa Fe; sisters, Tanya Benally,
Caroline Maria, Grace Maria, Louise Maria, Nancy Maria all of Ramah,
Bertha Chatto of Pinehill; brother, Gilbert Maria of Ramah.
Maria was preceded in death by his father, Kee Maria; mother, Mary K.
Maria; brothers, Bennie Maria Sr., Bobby Maria Sr. and sister, Eva Maria.

Tonya Neidhardt
SAN RAFAEL Funeral services for Tonya Lynn Neidhardt, 48, are
pending and will be announced at a later date.
Neidhardt died July 22 in San Rafael. She was born May 24, 1957 in Kansas.

Rita White
GRANTS Funeral services are pending for Rita Mae "Tootsie"
White, 44.
White died July 24 in Grants. She was born July 30, 1960 in Grants.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Howard Newsom
GALLUP Funeral services for Howard Leroy Newsom, 80, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Newsom died July 23 in Gallup. He was born Dec. 4, 1924 in Fredrick,
Okla.
A reception is planned following services at Sacred Heart Family Center.
