Elden Platero
CROWNPOINT Services for Elden M. Platero, 35, will be at 10
a.m., Saturday, July 9 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at
Sunset Memorial in Gallup.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 8 from 2-5 p.m. at Cope Memorial
Chapel.
Platero died July 3 in Lake Valley, N.M. He was born Jan 23, 1970 in
Gallup into the Tangle People Clan for the Salt Water People Clan.
Platero graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a welder's degree.
He also received a liberal arts degree from UNM. He worked as a welder
inspector in Texas and Utah.
Survivors include his son, Adriano Houston Platero; mother, Evelyn Platero;
brother, Michael Platero; sisters, Charlene Mitchell, Charlotte Platero
and Violet Manuelito.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Crownpoint Chapter
House following services on Saturday.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lena Brown
CHURCH ROCK Services for Pastor Lena Brown, 69, will be announced
at a later date.
Brown died July 5 in Albuquerque. She was born Jan. 10, 1936 in Church
Rock. There will be a family meeting tonight, July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at
the Church Rock Chapter House.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Bruce Reed
ALBUQUERQUE Services for Bruce Edward Reed, 58, will be announced
at a later date.
Reed died July 6 in Albuquerque. He was born March 26, 1947 in Jefferson
City, Mo. He was formerly of Gallup.
Joel Lee
CHINLE Services for Joel Ryan Lee, 19, of Chinle will be announced
at a later date.
Lee died July 5 in Phoenix. He was born into the Red Running Into the
Water People Clan for the Red House People Clan.
A family meeting will be held tonight and Friday at 6 p.m. at the late
Willis Begay Sr. residence, 1 mile north of Canyon de Chelly Visitor
Center.
