GALLUP — A 20-year-old Gallup woman was stabbed and beaten multiple times this morning during a party at Alternaid Acupuncture.

Tonya Bailey was transported to Public Health Services for treatment of injuries she sustained during the altercation. Her condition was not known as of press time.

Capt. John Allen said police were called to Alternaid Acupuncture, 404 Nizhoni, at about 5:30 a.m. in reference to a fight that erupted at the location.

Allen said Bailey was struck on the head multiple times with an unknown object and was then stabbed by an unknown individual.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.

He said he is not aware of how many people were at the party, but that witnesses to the incident are currently being interviewed by detectives at the Gallup Police Department.

Investigators are also attempting to secure a search warrant so they can continue to process the scene and gather evidence.

Allen said the immediate area surrounding Alternaid Acupuncture was blocked from oncoming traffic on Friday morning to preserve any evidence that may be relevant to the case.
