Edward M. Padilla Sr.
GALLUP Memorial rosary and mass for Edward Manuel Padilla, Sr.,
75, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14 at Sacred Heart Cathedral
Church. The Very Rev. Lawrence J. O'Keefe will officiate.
Padilla Sr., attended school in Grants and moved to Gallup in 1963.
He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Padilla was employed with Tom's Peanuts
and opened Genaro's restaurant in 1975 where he owned and operated it
for 30 years. He enjoyed going to casinos.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Padilla of Gallup; daughter, Barbara
Garcia of Gallup; sons, Edward Padilla, Jr., Paul Padilla both of Gallup;
sister, Constance Archuleta of Trona, Calif.; brothers, Bailey R. Padilla
of Gallup, Dennis R. Padilla of Santa Fe, Fred Padilla of Scottsdale;
6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Padilla, Sr. was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Padilla; mother,
Reyes Padilla; daughters, Kathy Padilla, Patricia Padilla and sister,
Jennie Dannenbaum.
Pallbearers will be Ben Archuleta, Ken Dannenbaum, Rick Dannenbaum,
Amado Otero, Bailey Padilla, Dennis Padilla, Fred Padilla and Genaro
Villanueva.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Albert T. Hood
TOHLAKAI Services for Albert Tom Hood, 45, will be at 10 a.m.
on Monday, Feb. 14 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jerry Baker will
officiate. Burial will be in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Hood died Feb. 9 in Albuquerque. He was born May 22, 1959 in Gallup
into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People.
Hood attended Churchrock elementary and Gallup High School. He enjoyed
being with family.
Survivors include his daughter, Albertina Hood of Window Rock; mother,
Helen Livingston of Tohlakai; brothers, Irvin Livingston, Benjamin Yazzie,
both of Tohlakai; sisters, Ellen James of Rehoboth, Fern Spencer, Linda
Spencer, Evely Livingston, Melinda Livingston, Priscilla Livingston,
Orlinda Livingston, Anita Yazzie, Brenda Yazzie, all of Tohlakai.
Hood was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hood, Sr.; brother,
Gibson Hood and sister, Rita Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Spencer, Raymond Spencer, Chee Spencer, Irvin
Livingston, Benjamin Yazzie and Client Begay.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Wero Carson
CROWNPOINT Services for Mary Wero Carson, 78, will be at 10
a.m., Monday, Feb. 14 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Rehoboth.
Burial will follow at Rehoboth Cemetery.
Carson died Feb. 10 in Albuquerque. She was born April 15, 1926.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Catholic Parish
Hall in Crownpoint following burial.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Randy H. Largo
WILDCAT Funeral services for Randy H. Largo, 25, will be at
10 am. on Monday, Feb. 14 at the Bible Navajo Mission. Pastor Jim Bowling
will officiate. Burial will be on private land.
Largo died Feb. 8 in Gallup. He was born Jan. 19, 1980 in Gallup into
the Towering House People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People
Clan.
Largo graduated from Mt. Zion High School in Decatur, Ill. He attended
UNM-Gallup, welding school. He enjoyed listening to music, playing basketball
and riding horses.
Survivors include his mother, Vergene Louise Miller of Wildcat; stepfather,
Kenneth Miller of Wildcat; father, Herman Largo of Prewitt; sisters,
Latreva Largo of Prewitt, Kimberly Miller of Wildcat; brothers, Robert
Largo of Las Vegas, Roland Largo, Vincent Largo of Prewitt, Kendall
Miller, Randell Miller both of Wildcat; grandmother, Mary Largo of Prewitt
and Muriel Strayhorn of Churchrock.
Largo was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberley Miller.
Pallbearers will be Nelvin Charley, Robert Largo, Roland Largo, Vincent
Largo, Jefferson Nez, Johnson Nez, Justin Nez, Larry Willie, Sr. and
Larry Willie, Jr.

Howard David Nez
FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services for Howard David Nez, 51 will
be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14 at the Presbyterian Church. Pastor
Roger Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort Defaince Community
Cemetery.
Nez died Feb. 9 in Flagstaff. He was born Sept. 15, 1953 into the Charcoal
Streak People Clan for the Bitterwater People Clan.
Nez graduated from Ganado High School, he was employed with NTUA and
ASU west campus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and playing
the guitar.
Survivors include his brother Frank D. Nez Jr., of Fort Defiance; sisters,
Margaret Sheka of Fort Defiance, Marilyn Chavez of Navajo, N.M., Marjorie
Anderson of Tuba City, Cindy Nez of Santa Fe, Lavinda Weber of St. Michaels,
Beatrice Nez of Tucson and Laurita Butler of Arlington, Texas.
Nez was preceded in death by his parents Frank D. Nez Sr. and Elsie
M. Nez; grandparents, Hasdeen and Beatrice Ayze and Charlie and Yithasbah
Nez and brother Lewis D. Nez.
Pallbearers will be Frank d. Nez Jr., Eli H. Nez, Mathew Sheka, Glena
McLemore, Ethan H. Nez and Bea Thompson.
Dana Watchman
STEAMBOAT, Ariz. Services for Dana Deland Watchman, 31, will
be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Willie and Frances John's residence
in Steamboat. Burial will follow in Steamboat.
Watchman died Feb. 8 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 23, 1964 in Steamboat
into the Black Streek Wood People Clan for the Red Running into the
Water People Clan.
Watchman went to Toyei Boarding School, Ganado Public Schools and LDS
placement school in Delta, Utah.
Survivors include his wife Ella Mae Lee; sons, Derrick Shirley and Jonathan
Shirley; daughters, Diona and Jannell Watchman; parents Dan Watchman,
Willie John and Frances B. John; brothers, Daniel Watchman; sisters
Mary F. Shirley.
Watchman was preceded in death by his brothers Vincent Watchman, Larry
Brown, Danny Lee Watchman and Don Watchman.
The family will receive friends and relatives and Willie and Frances
John's residence after services. Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of
arrangements.
