GALLUP — A 27-year-old El Dorado security guard was arrested on Sunday for allegedly zapping the bar's customers with a taser gun.

Gallup resident Patrick Leekity, 37, called Gallup police to the location after guard Shad Rashid reportedly confiscated his cell phone valued at more than $200 and then refused to return it.

Leekity said he previously used the phone to take pictures of his friends inside the bar. According to a police report, Rashid reportedly held Leekity's arm behind his back and pointed a black taser gun toward his neck.

When police arrived at the El Dorado, they found Rashid standing in the bar's parking lot screaming at the individuals who were in the immediate area.

Police entered the bar and talked to customers who said Rashid zapped them with the gun in locations such as their faces and legs.

Officers documented the minor injuries caused by the taser gun by taking photographs of the individuals who were jolted.

An El Dorado employee of 3 weeks told officers Rashid had carried the taser gun since she'd been employed at the business.

Rashid was booked into the Gallup-McKinley County Adult Detention Center on charges of false imprisonment, aggravated battery and larceny.

Liquor violations
Two local bar employees were cited by Gallup police officers for selling alcohol to intoxicated persons.

In his nearly 30-minute observation period of servers at The American Bar, an officer reportedly saw employee 41-year-old Nina Smith, of Jamestown, serve 22-year-old John Bitsie a pitcher of beer.

Bitsie was reportedly staggering when he walked and swaying as he stood. According to a police report, he registered a .15 when given a breathalyzer test. The legal limit is .08.

Officers reportedly asked Smith for her driver's license and server's permit four times before she complied.

She was cited into magistrate court for serving alcohol to an intoxicated customer.

Class Act Bar server 26-year-old Tranquelina Garcia was also cited for selling alcohol to an intoxicated 26-year-old Seneca Becenti.

When given a breathalyzer test, Becenti registered a .38. He was transported to a local hospital for observation due to his high blood-alcohol content.
