Hoskie Frank

PINEDALE — Graveside services for Hoskie Frank, 83, will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Sunnyside Ranch, Pinedale.

Frank died Dec. 3 in Pinedale. He was born June 15, 1923 in Pinedale into the Meadow People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Frank retired from Santa Fe Railroad, following 25 years of service. He enjoyed tending to his livestock, watching western movies and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Samuel Parker; daughters, Helen Frank, Esther Frank; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Etsitty Begay Navajo Frank; mother, Mary Frank; sons, Bobby Frank, Hobby Frank, Daniel P. Parker.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Johnson, Robertson Snyder, Eric S. Johnson, Norman Martin, Robert Snyder and Adrian Johnson.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Margaret Johnson

TSAILE — Funeral services for Margaret James Johnson, 82, will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Chinle. Interment will follow in the Lukachukai community cemetery.

Johnson died Dec. 4 in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born Dec. 25, 1923 in Round Rock into the Big Water People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Johnson attended St. Michaels Indian School and St. Catherine's High School. She played sports in high school, and enjoyed watching them on television. Johnson was a homemaker and she worked for the Arizona Public schools for 26 years. She enjoyed cooking, weaving, assisting in traditional ceremonies and speding time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Mike L. Johnson; sons, Leslie M. Johnson, Sr. of Chinle, Rex Johnson, Anthony Johnson, both of Tsaile; daughters, Larraine Johnson Sorrell, Marjorie Johnson-Klee, both of Tsaile, Lena Johnson of Shiprock; brothers, George James of Tsaile, Leo James Sr. of Fort Defiance; sisters, Rita Jishie, Lucy Lee, Irene Alva all of Tsaile, Eva Gorman of Chinle; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Johnson was preceded in death by her mother, Yannibah Begay; father, George Chee; brother, Joe James, Sr.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Tso, Donovan Troy Nez, Brad Begay, Kyle Johnson, Gilbert Davis and Anderson Ben.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Mike L. Johnson home in Tsaile.

Johanna Yazzie

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Johanna "Jae" Lynn Yazzie, 22, will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Assembly of God Church, Fort Defiance. Pastor Ken Delaney will officiate. Interment will follow on family land in Blue Canyon.

Yazzie died Dec. 3 in Fort Defiance. She was born June 24, 1983 in Gallup into the Mexican People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Yazzie graduated from Window Rock High School in 2002. She attended Collins College in Tempe, Ariz. and recieved an arts degree in visual communication; Art Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. and received a BS in graphic design and was attending Din College, majoring in business administration. Yazzie enjoyed weaving, sewing, art work, watching wrestling and baby sitting.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Yazzie of Fort Defiance; father, John Yazzie of Tah Chee; sisters, Francina Watts, Francelia Yazzie both of Fort Defiance.

Yazzie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frank H. and Elizabeth W. azzie; paternal grandfather, Hosteen Greyeyes.

Pallbearers will be Ramone Yazzie Sr., Johnny Watts, Sr., Delbert R. Nelson, Larry Westbrook, Eugene Atcitty, Danny Atcitty, Randy Berry and Deshane Roanhorse.

Inez Becenti

GALLUP — Funeral services for Inez P. Becenti, 90, will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the New Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Nathan Nobel will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rehoboth Mission Cemetery.

Becenti died Dec. 4 in Gallup. She was born Sept. 15, 1915 in Fort Defiance into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Zuni People Clan. She was a homemaker and rug weaver all her life.

Survivors include her children, Georgianna Becenti of Gallup, Ramona B. Silversmith of Coolidge, Ella V. Becenti of Albuquerque, Phyllis Becenti, Claudina Bahe both of Gallup, Albert Becenti of Santa Anna, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Becenti was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Becenti, Sr.; parents, Man of Five Mountains Blackgoat and the Red Lady Blackgoat Plummer; son, Jay Becenti and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Fredrick Beach, Johnson Beach, Timothy Bahe, Aaron Becenti, Darius Yazzie and Patrick Jameson.

Daniel Magnuson

ALBUQUERQUE — Memorial services for Daniel Magnuson, 46, were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Albuquerque.

Magnuson died Nov. 24. He was born April 3, 1959 in Marshaltown, Iowa. He was employed with Albuquerque Cab Co. Magunson enjoyed hiking with his daugters, swimming, basketball and baseball.

Survivors include his father, Ernest Magnuson of Albuquerque; daughters, Angela Hoskie, Alyssa Hoskie both of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Barbara, Paula, Marie and Kathy.

Magnuson was preceded in death by his mother, Ann.
