Ralph O. Nellis

GRANTS — Memorial Mass for Ralph O. Nellis, 93, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 18 at St. Teresa de Avila Catholic Church. Father Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Santa Fe National cemetery.

Nellis died April 13 in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 19, 1912 in Kansas City, Kan.

Nellis served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Grants VFW Post #3221 and served as Post Commander from 1949 to 1950. He was a member of the Lions Club, serving as president and the Grants-Milan BPOE. Nellis owned and operated the local NAPA Auto Parts store.

Survivors include his sons, Ralph Patrick Nellis of Albuquerque, Bob Crawford of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Nellis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Warren Nellis and Nellie Dora Metcalf Nellis; wife, Leona Nellis; brother, Glenn Nellis; sisters, Nina Nellis, Helen June Covey and Ava Lorena Nellis.


Isais Bustos Jr.

GRANTS — Services will be announced at a later date for Isais "Si" Bustos, Jr., 88.
Bustos died April 14 in Grants. He was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Walensburg, Colo.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
