Barney Bordy
HUNTERS POINT Funeral services for Barney Bordy, 92, will be
at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15 at the St. Michaels Mission. Father Meldon
Hickey, O.F.M. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michaels cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at St. Michaels
Mission.
Bordy was born March 14 in Pinedale into the One Who Walks Around People
Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Bordy attended Fort Defiance elementary school. He was a chapter council
delegate. Bordy worked as a carpenter, ONEO foreman and he was a sheepherder.
Survivors include his wife, Philomena Bordy; sons, Mike Bordy, David
Bordy, Johnson Bordy; daughters, Agnes Bordy, Rosemary Bordy, Mary Frances
Allison; sisters, Anna D. Saunders; 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Bordy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nata'ya'tti'bici';
brothers, Paul Bordy, Mike Bordy, Willie Becenti Sr. and sister, Anna
D. Saunders.
Pallbearers will be Laura S. Scott, Tony Frazier, William Blackgoat,
Jonothan Bordy, Tyrone Bordy and David Bordy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the St. Michaels Chapter
House.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Nelson Livingston
MANUELITO Funeral services for Nelson Livingston, 50, will be
at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Pastor
Jake Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in the Rehoboth Mission cemetery.
Livingston died April 10 in Chinle. He was born March 18, 1955 in Zuni
into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for the Red Running into the
Water People Clan.
Livingston was a 1974 graduate of Wingate High School. He received a
Bachelors at UNM in physical education. Livingston served in the US
Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk until 1978. He enjoyed running, basketball,
football and native crafts.
Survivors include his mother, Rose D. Livingston of Manuelito; sisters,
Mary J. Cody of Pinon, Louise Livingston of Breadsprings, Pauline Livingston
of Manuelito, Lucinda White of Pinedale; brothers, Dennis Livingston
of Fruitland, Johnson Livingston of San Francisco, Calif., and Leo D.
Livingston of Rio Rancho.
Livingston was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Livingston;
sister, Marjorie Blackgoat and brother, Crystal Livingston.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Livingston, Procopio Montano, Jr., Michael
Watchman, Harold Yazzie, Jr., Michael Yazzie and Riley Yazzie.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Edna E. Skeets
VANDERWAGON Funeral services for Edna E. Skeets, 95, will be
at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Joe Cody will
officiate. Burial will be in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Skeets died April 10 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 8, 1910 in Toadlena
into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Folded Arms
People Clan.
Skeets was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Skeets; sons, Mike Skeets, Henry
Skeets; daughter, Julia Joe; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren
and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Skeets was preceded in death by her son, Melvin Skeet and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Joe, Ryan Joe, Luther Joe, Ottis Skeets,
Tyrone Charley and Justin Villa.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Whitewater Bible
Church.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Curt Lindersmith
HOBBS Memorial services for Curtis "Curt" Lindersmith,
78, was held on Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Pastor Leon Green officiated. Burial was in the Arlington National Cemetery,
Arlington, Va.
Lindersmith died Feb. 7 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born Dec. 7, 1926
in Rochester, Minn.
Lindersmith lived in Gallup for 30 years, where he owned and operated
Nizhoni Pharmacy. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired from
the Navy in 1986 and recieved a degree in pharmacy from the University
of South Dakota and held his pharmacy license for 50 years. Lindersmith
belonged to the American Legion and was a lifetime member of the Elks.
He enjoyed traveling and his dog.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Lindersmith; son, Roy A. Lindersmith
of Chandler, Ariz.; brothers, Jack Lindersmith of Wash., Charles Lindersmith
of Neb.; stepson, Tony Burton of Midland, Texas, two step-grandchildren
and one grandchild.
Lindersmith was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Gladys
Lindersmith.
Tom M. Dooley, Sr.
VANDERWAGON Services for Tom M. Dooley, Sr., 87, will be announced
at a later date.
Dooley, Sr. died April 13 in Gallup. He was born March 17, 1918 in Chichiltah
into the Edge of the Water People Clan for the Overhanging Rock People
Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
