a vocational high school program at the University of New Mexico-Gallup.

Gallup firefighter Michael Gleason relieves pressure from a fire hydrant
before disconnecting the hose from it. Duke and Mary Ann Armijo called
911 Tuesday night when Duke saw smoke coming from their garage during
a nightly check of the property before going to bed. Duke tried to put
out the fire with an extinguisher and a garden hose while waiting for
GFD to arrive. No one was injured and Duke credits quick fire and police
response times with helping to save the garage from serious damage. (Photo
