Gilbert
Benally
CRYSTAL — Memorial services for Gilbert Benally,
44, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Assembly of God Church,
Fort Defiance.
Pastor
Kenneth Delaney will officiate. Burial will be in Deersprings.
Benally died Sept. 18 in Ganado. He was born Aug. 9, 1960, in Fort Defiance
into
the Edgewater People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Benally graduated from Window Rock High in 1979 and attended UNM. He was an auto
mechanic who enjoyed restoring classic cars and attending bike rallies.
Survivors include his daughters, Wenona B. Jefferson of Twin Lakes, Wiyanna B.
Benally of Gilbert, Ariz.; brothers, Delbert Benally of Santa Domingo, Elbert
Benally of Albuquerque; sisters, Shirley Benally of Crystal, Marilyn Curley of
Gamerco and one grandchild.
Benally was preceded in death by Norman Benally.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Benally, James Yazzie, Manuel Francis, Herbert Brown,
Jasper Kee and Elbert Benally.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Crystal Chapter House.

Vincent Accardi
PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Dr. Vincent Accardi, 97, died
Sept. 19 in Palm Harbor. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Accardi moved to Palm Harbor in 1992 from Gallup. He graduated with a masters
degree from St. John's University, N.Y. and earned a doctorate from Rush
Presbyterian Medical College of the University of Chicago. He was a abdominal
surgery specialist
and practiced medicine for over 40 years in Gallup were he also served as
chief of staff at McKinley General Hospital. His practice in Gallup helped
save many
lives. Accardi was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International
College of Surgeons. He was a member of several professional and benevolent
associations. Accardi was also an amateur radio operator for many years.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Damiano, and Rose Helen Accardi both
of Palm Harbor.
Charley Johnson
TWIN LAKES — Services for Charley Johnson, 74,
are pending and will be announced at a later date.
Johnson died Sept. 20 in Gallup. He was born March 23, 1930, in Rehoboth.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
