M. Saucedo
GALLUP — Services for Felix Saucedo, 77, will be 2 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 19, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Father James Walker will
officiate.
Burial will follow Sunset Memorial Park.
A rosary will be recited at 7 tonight at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Saucedo died Feb. 14 in Gallup. He was born May 18, 1926, in Gallup.
Saucedo was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps and U.S. Air
Force. He received a Bronze Star in 1947 and was honorably discharged as
a sergeant.
Survivors include his son, John Saucedo of Moriaty; daughters, Esther Saucedo
of Gallup and Maria Young of Rio Rancho; brothers, Augustine Saucedo of Belmont,
N.H., and Cleofas Saucedo of Albuquerque; sisters, Susan Landovazo of Albuquerque
and Mary Williams of Toole, Utah; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Saucedo was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Saucedo; parents, Micaela and
Cleofas Saucedo; sons, Felix Saucedo Jr. and Gerard Saucedo; brothers, Blas Saucedo
and Cecelio Saucedo; and sister, Micaela Ruiz.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Apodaca, Michael Mandril, Jerry Saucedo, Stephan
Saucedo, Jonathan Yazzie and Joseph Young.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Viola A. Montoya
GALLUP — Services
for Viola Montoya, 68, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at St.
Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Father Gonzalo will
officiate.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be noon to 6 p.m. today at Rollie Mortuary.
Montoya died Feb. 13 in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Cerrillos.
Survivors include her sons, Dennis Montoya and Joseph Montoya both of Gallup;
daughters, Rosemary Jimenez and Abigail Montoya both of Gallup; brothers, Fred
Montoya of Cerrillos, Leroy Montoya of San Bruno, Calif., David Montoya and
Joseph "Ricky" Montoya
both of Gallup; sisters, Frances Montoya of Wilcock, Ariz., Annie Montoya and
Julia Retana both of Gallup; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Montoya was preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Montoya; parents, Eugenia
and Ruben Montoya; son, Anthony Montoya; brothers, Charlie Montoya, Herbie Montoya,
Nick Montoya and Tony Montoya; and sisters, Bessie Garcia and Rosa Silva.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Gonzales, David Montoya, Fred Montoya, Joseph "Ricky" Montoya,
Leroy Montoya and Andrew Urbina.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Emma Lou Begay
KIRTLAND — Services
for Emma Lou Begay, 71, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Klagetoh
Shelter Mission, Klagetoh, Ariz. Paul Jones and
Ronald Woodman
will both officiate. Burial will follow at Klagetoh Community Cemetery.
Begay died Feb. 13 in Kirtland. She was born June 15, 1932, in Klagetoh into
the Edgewater People Clan for the Honeycombed People Clan.
Begay attended Ganado Mission nursing program. She was employed with Indian Health
Services, Tuba City, Ariz.; Shiprock and Tees Nos Pos.
Survivors include her brothers, Joe Franklin of Leupp, Ariz., John Begay of Klagetoh,
Lee Begay of Farmington, Herman Tom of Sawmill, Ariz., Albert Tom of Mesa, Ariz.,
and McDonald Boyd of Many Farms, Ariz.; sisters, Lottie Thompson of Wide Ruins,
Ariz., Lillie Redsteer of Leupp, Alice Larry of Thoreau, Loretta Daisy of Oceanside,
Calif., Ellen Dove of Broadway, Va., Mae Dennison, Mary Yazzie and Carletta Tom
all of Klagetoh.
Begay was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Boyd and Tom Begay; brothers,
Keland Begay, Herbert Tom, Jonah Tom and Woody Tom.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Dennison, Jerry Larry, Robert Redsteer Jr., Albert
Tom, Courtney Tom and Lee Tom.
The family will receive friends and relatives after the burial services at Klagetoh
Chapter House.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Ellen Fowler
NAVAJO, Ariz. — Services
for Mary Fowler, 78, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Indian Holiness
Church, Chambers. Pastor Carl Noggle will officiate.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix.
Fowler died Feb. 14 in Payson, Ariz. She was born Nov. 19, 1925, in Crockett's
Bluff, Ark.
Fowler's hobbies included singing and yodeling.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Shannon Fowler of Navajo, Ariz., James K.
Farmer and Virgil Dale Fuller both of Phoenix; daughter, Donna M. Jewkes of Tse
Bonito; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Fowler was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Winnie Muzzy.
Pallbearers will be Michael S. Fowler, Randy Jefferies, Wayne Cox, Michael D.A.
Fowler, Shane Bodie and Gary Mills.
The family will receive friends and relatives after the burial services at Apple
Dumpling Restaurant, Chambers.
