Frances Gons Begay
TUBA CITY, Ariz. Services for Frances Begay,
96, were held at 11 a.m., today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints, Tuba City. Rev. Roger C. Davis officiated. Burial followed
at Tuba City Community Cemetery.
Begay died April 3 in Fort Defiance, Ariz. She was born June 20, 1906
in Coalmine Mesa, Ariz. into the Salt People Clan for the Rock Gap
People Clan.
Survivors include her sons, Wilfred "Shine" Begay of Window
Rock and George Yellow of Cameron, Ariz.; daughters, Doris M. White
of Parker, Ariz., Geraldine Nuvayestewa of Tuba City, Florence Davis
and Margaret Sanderson both of Window Rock; 27 grandchildren; and
38 great-grandchildren.
Begay was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Begay; sons, Frank
Begay, Robert Begay and Morris Begay; sisters, Fannie Singer, Ella
Seschillie, Jennie Dohi and Carrie Yellow; and brothers, Daniel Norris
and Fred Norris and parents.
Pallbearers were George D. White Jr., Nicholas M. White, Tony Davis,
Art Sanderson, Wilson Norris and Joseph Seshillie.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
